What Is Deep Skinning & Silver Skinning?
Deep Skinning
Deep skinning removes not only the skin but also a portion of the underlying dark fat layer, providing a cleaner and leaner fillet. This method is ideal for premium fillet production where aesthetics and fat removal are priorities.
Silver Skinning
Silver skinning is a precise skinning technique that retains most of the fat layer while removing only the silver membrane. It preserves more meat and is preferred when yield and nutrition retention are key.
Our machine supports both deep and silver skinning with easy adjustments.
How It Works?
- Operator feeds salmon fillet tail-first into the machine.
- Pressure roller adapts to fillet thickness.
- Tooth roller peels skin (deep or silver based on setting).
- Skinned fillet exits cleanly, waste skin is flushed.
